Characteristics Source: Pooled normal human serum
Identity and purity is confirmed by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immuno-diffusion (Ouchterlony) using antisera to human IgG(Fc) and IgG(Fab) and total serum proteins. Microbiological safety: This product has been tested for the presence of HbsAg and antibodies to HIV 1 and was found to be negative.
Purification The protein is isolated from urine, using ion-exchange, affinity chromatography and gelfiltration Chromatographically purified human IgG. Not less than 98 % as determined by immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion against a panel of specific antisera to individual human serum proteins. Tested in a concentration of 50 mg/mL at the level of sensitivity of the applied immunoprecipitating techniques, this product contains traces of IgA and albumin, but not IgM, complement component C3c or fragments of C3 reactive with antiserum to C3c.

Reconstitution After opening the vial, the lyophilized content is reconstituted by adding 2 mL of sterile distilled water, mixed gently by inversion until complete dissolution is obtained. Allow to stand at ambient temperature for 5-10 minutes to reach equilibrium.

Handling Advice Working dilutions may be prepared by adding the required amount of phosphate buffered saline (PBS), should not be refrozen and preferably used within 24 hours. Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation and will not affect the performance of the product.
