SH-6 is an inhibitor of Akt (PKB) acitivation without affecting activation of the upstream kinase PDK-1, or other kinases downstream of Ras such as MAPK. Induces apoptosis and kills a variety of cancer cell lines that contain high levels of active Akt and depend upon Akt for survival.
